On October 17, 1940, Individual Satyagraha was launched by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi when the British government, consent of the Indian people committed India in the Second war. The Individual Satyagraha was not to seek independence but to affirm the right of speech. The first Satyagrahi chosen was Acharya Vinoba Bhave. He was arrested for  speaking  against the war. Second Satyagrahi was  Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru.
