Non-cooperation movement started to diminish the British rule in India and Mahatma Gandhi was the first leader who was arrested in 1922.

Muslims of India had put in  a lot of effort to confront British rule in India.
Muslims, mostly the Ali brothers, founded Khilafat committee and joined Gandhi in his struggle.
Rallies were organized in different cities and villages to gather attention of the public and other leaders.
They also met with the Viceroy of Britain to negotiate a quick exit by the britain
