Monier Monier-Williams was the one who composed the Sanskrit-English dictionary.
He was the professor of Sanskrit in the University of Oxford. On top of that, he is famous for his Sanskrit, Hindustani and Persian languages work and documenting.
He also taught Asian languages at the College at East India Company until 1858.
