The Nanda Dynasty was one of the great Indian dynasties of ancient India which has its origin in Magadha during the time period of about 4th century BC. It is assumed that it existed between 345 BC to 321 BC. It had a large extent. It extended from Bengal is East to the region of Punjab in the West and to the Vindhyachal in the southward direction. Its capital was Patliputra. The rulers of the same dynasty are very well known and are popular for the wealth they had. This empire was later overtaken by Chandragupta Maurya who became the founder of Mauryan Empire.
