Mughal empire was lasted for nearly 300 years. In this period Indian subcontinent was ruled by dynamic rulers like Akbar, Jhangir, Shah jahan etc. The decline of Mughal was started from the Aurangzeb's reign. The rise of Marathas is also the another reason for the decline of Mughal empire.

Bahadur shah zafar was made as last Mughal emperor during the revolt of 1857 against British. British exiled Bahadur shah where he dead.
