Between 345 to 321 B.C. the northern part of India was under the reign of Nalanda dynasty. The last ruler of Nanda dynasty was Dhana Nanda. He was captured by Chandragupta Maurya and put under exile in his capital i.e. Patliputra. The Nanda Dynasty came to an end in around 321 BC. The Nanda Dynasty was followed by Mauryan dynasty. Chandragupta Maurya formed the dynasty with the help of Chanakya.
