Siraj-ud-daulah was the Nawab of Bengal as well as he was the one who asked the epic to stop fortifications in Calcutta even misusing the right of tax-free trade in Bengal as permitted by Aurangzeb as well as later on farrukshiyar.

Even Farman was a perpetual source of conflict between the Nawabs of Bengal as well as Company.
