According to Indian Hindu Mythology, when Ravana (demon lord) abducted Sita and held her hostage in Lanka, Lord Ram with the help of Monkeys built a bridge to cross the river into Lanka. It was known as Rama Setu.

The story of a bridge built by stones to carry the army of Rama across the seven oceans to the Lankan empire of Ravana was mentioned in the Ramayana. The bridge was built by the monkey army of Rama. But the most interesting part is that the stones were passed by two monkey brothers Nal and Neer who were cursed by a sage that anything they drop in water would not sink. And thus a floating bridge of stones was created.
