Hunter gatherers refer to the primitive survivals in the human era. In ancient time, the humans didi not know the art of cultivation or growing crops. They were entirely dependent on nature for their food and survival. Unlike today's world, people in ancient times were not stationary, means they didi not live in a particular place for a longer time, they kept moving in search of food.

Their basic skill was hunting and gathering food. They used to hunt animals and fishes as well as gathered fruits and other edible substances from the nature. This was their main activity for survival. For this they came to be known as Hunter-gatherers.
