Jacobins were political clubs of the people.
These became an important rallying point for people who wished to discuss the government policies and plans .
Maximilian Robespiere was their head.

☆☆ ROLE IN REPUBLIC OF FRANCH ☆☆
Elections were held.
All men of 21 or above got right to vote.
Newly elected assembly called convention.
On 21 September, 1792 it abolished monarchy and declared France a republic.

☆☆REIGN OF TERROR☆☆
The period from 1793 to 1794 is referred to as reign of terror. It includes:
Strict policies of Robespiere.
Economic controls
Principle of equality
Control over churches

About sixty clubs came in french cities.

In 1794 , slavery was abolished in france.
But ten years later, Napoleon reintroduced slavery.
