Hey mate here is your answer》》
Indo- Greek rulers who trace their decedents to Bactria in Central Asia were the first to issue Gold Coins.
Many have wrong assumption that Kushan ruler Vima Kadphises issued first Gold coin but that's completely wrong. Let me put some light on that.
Indo-Greeks or Bactrians coinage can be classified into three categories : Pre 250 BCE , Bacterian Kingdom & Indo-Greek coinage. I've made extensive study on all coinages.
The first ruler to issue Gold Coin in Indian Subcontinent or near was Antiochos 2 (c. 270 BCE).
Gold Stater of Antiochos 2 : Weight - 8.46 gm || Dimension - 18 mm || Die axis - 6 o'clock. Obverse - Diademed bust of King on Right + Reverse - Nude Apollo seated left on amphalos, leaning on bow with left hand, holding arrow right ; Greek legend at right and left with ∆ monogram of Ai-Khanoum in left field : BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIOXOY (of King Antiochos)
After Antiochos 2 many Indo-Greeks started issuing Gold coins. Diodotus 1 ( 250 - 230 BCE ) & Euthydemos 1 ( 230 - 200 BCE ) also issued Gold coinage & later all Indo-Greek rulers including Menander & Hermaois never issued Gold coins. Then the Gold coins were brought back by Vima Kadphises ( 95 - 127 CE ) with his Gold Dinar / Double Dinar.
Concluding : Antiochos 1 → Demetrios 1 → Euthydemos 1 issued Gold coins & then all Greek rulers never issued Gold coin. Then Vima Kadphises brought back Gold in coinage of India.
