Mughals were a dynasty from Persia. Babur, the king who invaded India was a ruler of Afghanistan.

they were the trimurid Muslim dynasty and they were from  Persia. babur was the first emperor and he conquered the Sultanate in Delhi on 1526 and establish Mughal empire. the last monarch of Mughal empire was Bahadur Shah 2. Shajahan  was also a very famous empire of Mughal. Babur was not satisfied with his small kingdom and tried to reconquer Timur's greatest prize, Samarkand but he never succeeded in conquering it. his attention soon reaches Delhi, northern India, where he ruled for five decade Babur's campaign against the Delhi sultanate caused the foundation of the greatest dynastic in the history of  South Asia which is known as the Mughal empire
