The Giving Tree is a children's picture book written by the author Shel Silverstein. It firstly published in the year 1964 by Harper & Row, it had become one of Silverstein's best known title and had been translated in many languages.

The Giving Tree was banned from a public library in Colorado in 1988 because it was interpreted as being sexist.
