Whole numbers are closed under addition and multiplication, but not closed under subtraction and
division.
i.e. let a,b, E W, then a + b is a whole number ( 3,9,E W then 3+9=12 EW).
let a,b, E W, then a xb is a whole number ( 7,12,E W then 7x12=84 EW).
let a,b, E W, then a - b need not be a whole number if a < b).
let a,b, E W, then a:b need not be a whole number (if amb and bm1 amo and a<b).​
