As Na and Mg are in the same period and we know that
ALONG A PERIOD SIZE OF THE ATOM DECREASES FROM RIGHT TO LEFT
So Size of Na>Mg
Now if we take the ions then
Na+ and Mg²+
If atoms lose electrons, then their atomic size decreases as the number of electrons compared with protons decreases for Electro positve elements...
So size of Na+ > Mg2+
