This answer is based on a brain teaser I figured out recently. If you throw the pieces together, it falls apart. If you go through careful planning and make sure each side is the exact same, it falls apart. If you carefully construct it, but leave one crucial difference, then it stays together.
In short, what attracts me to the love of my life are the similarities that we share, and the differences that surprise me. Looks play a factor too, but it just didn't work with the brain teaser.
