Answer:1)Solids have a definite volume and shape because particles in a solid vibrate around fixed locations.

2)Particles are far apart from each other because there are very weak forces of attraction between them. They move fast in all directions. Because of this, gases don't have a definite shape or volume and fill any container.

3)Liquids have definite volume, but indefinite shape. They are free to form droplets and puddles when they are not inside a container. When a liquid is inside a container, it will take its shape. Unlike gases, a liquid will not change its volume to spread out and completely fill a container.

4)How can you show that matter occupies space

Take a glass full of water approximately 100ml.

Add sugar or salt in it and make it dissolve by stirring.

Due to presence of some space inside the particles of water, particles of sugar dissolved.

But after adding more sugar that space will be filled up and no more sugar can dissolve in it.

5)Interconversion of states of matter means the the matter interconverts or interchange it's physical state without disturbing it's chemical properties on providing physical conditions such as temperature and pressure. ... and liquid condenses to solid on decreasing the temperature.
