Question:
What is meant by the term refraction of light?
Answer:
When light travels from one medium to another medium then on the basis of the density of substance it bends towards the normal line or gets away from normal line, this bending is termed as refraction of light.
In other word, the bending of light when it travels from one medium to another medium is called refraction of light.
This phenomenon occurs with sound and other waves as well.
We would not be able to focus the light on the retina of our eyes if this phenomenon would not be there!
Thanking You!

hey dear sweet friend / sister here is your answer
Refraction is the bending of a wave when it enters a medium where its speed is different. The refraction of light when it passes from a fast medium to a slow medium bends thelight ray toward the normal to the boundary between the two media.
hope it's help
have a great night
