Rigidity modulus or shear modulus is the ratio of tangential stress to shear strain within elastic limit.

Young's Modulus is the ratio of longitudinal stress to the longitudinal strain within elastic limit.

\huge\textbf{Rigidity Modulus (G) :}

It is the ratio of shearing stress with shearing strain..

i.e.

G = \dfrac{Shearing \:stress}{Shearing \:strain}

G = \dfrac{\frac{F}{A}}{\theta}

G = \dfrac{F}{A\:\theta}

\huge\textbf{Young's Modulus (Y) :}

It is defined as ratio of normal stress with longitudinal strain.

i.e.

Y = \dfrac{Normal\:Strain}{Longitudinal\:stress}

Y = \dfrac{\frac{F}{A}}{\frac{\delta\:L}{L}}

Y = \dfrac{FL}{A\:\delta\:L}
