Large concave mirrors are used for heating solar devices as they are the converging mirrors. The solar device is placed at the focus of a large concave reflector. After reflection from the concave reflector, the parallel beam of sunlight coming from infinity converges on the principal focus, i.e. the solar device. As a result, the soalr device gets very hot and produces large amount of heat.
