why 3F is not possible?​

in the first shell, there is only the one S orbital, as this shell can have a maximum of only two electrons. therefore, the 1 p orbital does not exist. in the second shell both 2S and 2P orbital exist. as it can have a maximum of 8 electrons. therefore the 3F orbital does not exist.
