why 6,6 & 6 are used in the names of Nylon-66 & Nylon-6?

Nylon 66 is made of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid, which give it a total of 12 carbon atoms in each repeating unit, and its name.

Nylon 6 is formed by ring-opening polymerization, i.e., it contains 6 carbons so the same is nylon-6.
