Hi friend,

There are two types of speeches:
DIRECT and INDIRECT

METHOD OF TRANSFORMING:
INDIRECT:

Whenever a statement or question is written in direct speech the first step is to remove the inverted commas. 'That' will be added ( not always though) and the tense of the sentence will be changed. ( Usually INDIRECT speech is written in past tense)
Eg: Rahul said Raj ," Meet me tomorrow."
Rahul asked Raj to meeth him the next day.

Tomorrow becomes the next day
SIMILARLY yesterday (eg) will become the previous day
YOU MIGHT HAVE NOTICED THAT IN THIS SENTENCE THE WORD 'THAT' IS NO BEEN USED.
Eg: Ravi said to Ram," You are late."
Ravi said to Ram that he was late.
DIRECT:
Whenever you are changing from INDIRECT to direct make sure the inverted commas are present. Simply reverse the changes made for Indirect speech.
Eg: Heena told Sheena to give back the pen.
Heena asked Sheena," Give back the pen."
MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE FULL STOP(.) FIRST AND THEN CLOSE THE INVERTED COMMAS
