(b) In every time zone the local time of middle longitude (divisible by 7⁰ 30' ) is adapted as the standard meridian. As 82⁰30'E is easily divisible by 7⁰30' it is selected as the standard meridian of india. (c) To avoid the confusion of local time of every place 82⁰30'E has been taken as the standard meridian of india.
