why 82°30'Ehas been selected as the Standard Meridian of india

⇒82°30'E has been selected as the Standard Meridian of india because 82 degree 30' east is located at the middle of india ( east to west ). It was selected as the Standard Meridian in order to avoid confusion based on uniform time.
