Heya,

♧) The sunrises 2 hours earlier in Arunachal Pradesh than in Gujarat.

♧) This leads to a time gap of 2 hours between the two states.

♧) To avoid this confusion a Standard time has been taken as reference to the whole country.

♧) The longitude 83°30' east has been chosen as the standard time for the whole country.

♧) As it passes through the middle of country it is being accepted as the Indian Standard Time.

Hope it helps u ...

Surya742: yes u r right.... to make the time similar throughout the country the indian standard time is taken from 82.5 deg longitude which passes from allahabad. but it should not be 83.5 it should be 82.5
