Answer :-

It doesn't matter where you put the negative sign as long as you are writing only one of it.

Hence, \frac{-7}{8} can also be written as \frac{7 }{-8} or -\frac{7}{8}.

In equations, subtracting two fractions is same as writing a negative sign before the second one and then adding them.

Eg. \frac{10}{8} -\frac{5}{8}

=\frac{10}{8} +(\frac{-5}{8} ) OR =\frac{10}{8} +(\frac{5}{-8} )

Both their values will be equivalent.
