Answer :-

It doesn't matter where you put the negative sign as long as you are writing only one of it.

Hence, $\frac{-7}{8}$ can also be written as $\frac{7 }{-8}$ or $-\frac{7}{8}$.

In equations, subtracting two fractions is same as writing a negative sign before the second one and then adding them.

Eg. $\frac{10}{8} -\frac{5}{8}$

$=\frac{10}{8} +(\frac{-5}{8} )$ OR $=\frac{10}{8} +(\frac{5}{-8} )$

Both their values will be equivalent.
