Why a ball thrown upward in a moving train comes back into the thrower's hands?
(I want correct reason only please! If you don't know it's better to avoid or neglect)

because after reaching a certain height ball faces free fall and after attaining a zero velocity it returns with the gravity with both horizontal and vertical speed and gets dropped in throwers hand..

when you throw a ball upward in moving train you think that ball should be dropped backward but this is not the case when you throw it, it contain two component to velocity the one is vertical velocity that you gave it to the ball and other velocity is horizontal velocity which is already in the ball. this type of phenomenon is explained by newton which is called law of inertia.
