Blunt cut bleeds less compared to a sharp cut because it damages the tissue causing swelling which leads to less flow of blood as compared to sharp cut.

EXPLANATION:

Our skin is in small amount of tension which is pierced by the sharp cut, the blood vessels are cut which lead to severe bleeding. Where as in blunt cut the damage tissue blocks the way of blood through damaged tissue.

The blood platelets are sent to the area to stop the bleeding. In blunt area the clotting takes small amount of time but in sharp cut there is much time needed for clotting purpose.
