why a crack in a glass looks shiny​

This is due to total internal reflection. if there is a crack in glass vessel, at crack there is a glass-air boundary. when light rays incident on glas-air boundary at an angle greater than 42°, total internal reflection is taking place. Hence a crack in glass vessel often shines like a mirror.
