A liverwort plant is unable to complete its life cycle in a dry environment because  of following factors:

a) They need water as a medium of gamete transfer for fertilization.

    when the water medium is not present the gamete would fail to transfer for      fertilization.

b) A larger number of the male gametes fail to reach the female gametes .

    In dry condition generally the male gamete of plant will fail to reach at female gametes

c) To enhance the chances of syngramy
