a new quilt is warmer than a old one as the old one shrinks and decreases air spaces but a new one has many air spaces so they are warmer than old ones

EXPLANATION:
It is true that a new quilt keeps warmer than the old quilt. In new quilt, there are air spaces between the layers of the woollen thing. These air spaces trap the air. It does not allow the body heat to pass through by holding it.
However, the old quilt, the air spaces are reduced between the layers resulting into less trapping of air. Hence, we do not feel warm as before. Old quilts are unable to hold warm heat in comparison to the new quilt.
