Are you talking about the A.C. Current?? if you are then., its graph is in the form of up and down curves which represents the current flow... When it shows the up curve then it means current is in the phase(not in the earth) and when it shows the down curve that means the current is going to the ground... and it goes to ground and went back in the definite time period
