why according to you did Mrs slater not call a doctor when she saw grandfather layed cold and dead in his room?

Mrs. Slater didn't call the doctor because she didn't want to save his life. she was superficial person who only pretended to care for her father though she actually didn't care.

Mrs. Slater did not call a doctor when she saw grandfather layed cold because on seeing the grandfather it was hard to find out wether he was alive or not. She thought that the grandfather was dead.
However she called doctor but he was out of station at that time so he couldn’t come.
