The carbonyl group in carboxylic acid and its derivative is less electrophilic. this is because lone pair of oxygen atom attached to hydrogen atom in -COOH group are involved in resonance there by making the carbon atom less electrophilic.
Hence carboxylic acid and its derivatives usually do not give haloform reaction.
