Acetic acid or ethanoic acid has ver low melthing point and boiling points. Therefore the freeze during cold and winter climates giving the appearance of glaciers. Thus it is called glacial acetic acid.

The acetic acid is called glacial acetic acid because the melting point of pure ethanoic acid is 290 K ie 17C .

So it often freezes during winter in cold climates . It therefore gives the appearence of glacier especially in cold countries it is found as a glacier form.
