Why acidic and basic character of s and d block change across aperiod and down the group?

Hi , Friend !!

as we know that on moving down the group metallic character increases

we also know that metal oxide are basic in nature.


so on moving down the group metal combined with oxygen and form metal oxide this result into increase in ( basicity.)


on moving left to right across the period we know that metallic character increases as follow the same character vice versa.




★ on moving down to earth metallic character decreases resulting in formation of non metallic oxide or less metallic oxide which are acidic in nature.


similarly on moving left or right metallic character decreases or non metallic character increases thus result in increasing the character of acidic.
