why acids are sour and bases are bitter in taste

Acids are believed tobe sour due to their pH levels(low pH level) and increased hydrogen ion concentration. Bases in comparison to acids are said to have more of a bitter taste due to having fewer hydroen ions and an increase on the pH scale. PLZZZ MARKS AS BRILLANT ANSWER
