Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a syndrome caused by a virus called HIV. Acquired means that people are not born with the disease. They get it after being infected with the HIV virus. Immune or Immuno- talks about the immune system.

Statement is 100% correct.

→ It is not considered as disease because itself it do not cause any harm to body.

→HIV attacks on T-helper cells, It decrease the immune system of body by decreasing the numbers of T-helper cells from 9×10^6/Litre to 200 ×10^6/Litre.

→ Due to weekness of Immune system. that a person is unable to protect himself/herself from Mycobacterium, virus , fungi and even parasites like Toxoplasma.
