You must not consume alcohol on the day of donation, alcohol intake can lead to dehydration which increases the likelihood of fainting after donation.

Alcohol. You cannot give blood if you are under the influence of alcohol. You must not consume alcohol on the day of donation, alcohol intake can lead to dehydration which increases the likelihood of fainting after donation. ... This is because Antabuse can cause severe reactions in a patient whose blood contains alcohol.

dhivyasuresh: antabuse?
cool420: Disulfiram, which goes by the trade name Antabuse, is a prescription medication that is taken orally once a day. The drug is prescribed to encourage abstinence and prevent relapse in chronic alcoholics, or those who have tried and failed repeatedly to stop drinking
