Why alkaline kmno4 or acidified potassium dichromate are known as oxidising agent in brainly ?

They are called so because after reaction of kmno4 and a srrong base such as NaOH or after the reaction of potassium dichromate with a strong acid such as H2SO4, nascent oxygen [O] is produced that helps other substances to get oxidised.
