Explanation:
Not being able to start a conversation seems to have nothing to do with people thinking that you have an attitude problem. Because, people, in general, in such cases discern correctly!
So, why are you not able to start a conversation?
Is it because you think that the people in the group are not up to your standard of intelligence to keep the conversation going?
Or is it because you think that there is no matching interest that is apparent for you to see and start a conversation?
Or is it because you think and show that you are of a different league altogether to come down to the froup’s level and make a conversation with the group?
Or is it because you feel that it is better to allow folks to think that you are a genius rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt?
Any one of the above characteristics will naturally make the people think that you have an attitude.
So, sit down and analyse exactly what makes you unable to start a simple and innocuous conversation with people and accept their views ( and not necessarily agree with them ) and show a sense of belonging to the group. If it is plain shyness, tell them that openly and ask for support so that they will know that it is not abnormal to be shy and treat you as one among them and encourage you to participate more and more in their conversations.
