why an ammeter is likely to burn when it is connected in parallel?

Here is your answer...

:>> Ammeter is a device used to measure currnt in the circuit . It is a low ristance device. so, it should be use in series in a circuit to measure the current effectively..

:>>however, if it is connected in parallel, the total current divides into two parts ( very small and very large values) and of this the large value of current will pass through the ammeter due to low Resistance (by Ohm's law) and it results in burning of ammeter...
