dergie changed lushkoff from begaar to notry by giving him odd jobs every time he came to the yard. now lushkoff did not need to beg alms since he got money for all the little tasks that he was given by sergie. lastly, sergie send lushkoff to his friend with a letter of recommendation for a cleaner employment as a copier.
