why and how stars twinkle

Star twinkle because of turbulence in the atmosphere of the earth as the atmosphere churns the light from The Star is reflected in different directions. this causes the stars image to change slightly in brightness and position, hence, twinkle, planets do not twinkle the way stars do.

The star twinkle in the night because of effects of atmosphere .When starlight enters our atmosphere it is effected by winds with different temperatures and densities. This causes the light from the star to twinkle when seen from the ground
