The constitution of India was soghned and adopted in part on 26 November 1949 which is celebrated as law day .
But all its provisions were adopted on 26th January 1950 in order to honour the pledge of poorna swaraj taken at the Lahore congress on 26th January 1930. This day 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day in India.
