When Louis XVI claimed the thrown he found that all the tresury was drained in the war against Britain.So,to overcome the expenses and to pay back the loans he invreased the taxes.The taxes was given only by the 3rd estate and when they heard it they started revolting...this finally led to dethowning of Louis XVI.
