It was coined Andhra Pradesh after it was formed as state that comprised of Telangana , CoastalAndhra ( were once called Circar Districts) and Rayalaseema. In oldTelugu scriptures, Telugu isreferred to as ANDHRAMU . They are called 'gulti' a slang for telugu. If you reverse Telugu it "sounds like" Gulti/Gulte
