Anode rays consist of +a charge. so they tilt next to perforated cathode. Perforated cathode consist of negative charge. Perforated cathode pass through the anode rays. They pass next by canals or holes which produce fluorescence. So, they pass with producing fluorescence. That's why Anode rays are known as canal rays.

Answer canal rays cannot be called anode rays
Explanation: since canal rays contain positively charged particles but they are affected by the type of gas and experimental condition in the discharged tube it is not necessary that they contain proton but in the case of anode rays they contain positively charged particles called proton and only hydrogen gas is filled in the discharged tube because protons are made by removing 1 electron from hydrogen since hydrogen contains only one election and one proton so on removing one electron only 1 proton is left. There is no neutron in hydrogen atom. That's why anode rays can be called canal rays but all canal rays can't be called anode rays
