Why aqua regia can dissolve all metals

aqua Regia better known as nitric acid also known as Hard water in Greek language. Can dissolve all metals because it has the ability to disolve Nobel metals, which are not easy to dissolve.

Aqua Regia (Latin name for 'Royal water') is a freshly prepared mixture of concentrated Hydrochloric acid and concentrated Nitric acid in the ratio of 3:1.

It can dissolve Gold even though neither of these acids do so alone. It is a highly corrosive, fuming liquid. It is one of the few reagents that is available to dissolve gold and platinum.
